Trauma can result from a single event or ongoing experiences such as abuse, neglect, medical trauma, systemic oppression, or chronic stress. Symptoms may include hypervigilance, emotional numbness, intrusive memories, difficulty trusting others, or feeling disconnected from your body.
My trauma-informed approach emphasizes stabilization, consent, and nervous system regulation before deep processing. Drawing from somatic, parts-based, and relational frameworks, therapy focuses on helping your body and mind feel safer in the present, not forcing retelling or re-experiencing.
Post-traumatic recovery is not about erasing the past, but about reclaiming choice, connection, and a sense of wholeness.
